Vote for the tree.

February 29, 2008

Generosity is in the air… monthly allowance for aunt and granny up by 25% starting this month. Feel good.

Vote for the tree

After days of asking random people if they are interested in a rocket public talk, I finally found a person who shares my curiosity. That person is non other than the cow master, of coz. It was his first time at such event. But I have been following my dad to such events since when I was a kid. Election time = go listen ceramah. All programmed nicely already.

Being a member-level rocketeer since 18, can-say I support my party blindly la – no matter what. So actually, ceramah or not, both my votes shoot for the skies. But I was more interested in seeing how Jeff Ooi the political blogger is like in real life.

We arrived at Lumba Kuda area around 10pm, just in time for his speech. And for a person who write serious & dry political topics, he was suprisingly entertaining and funny. He commanded the crowd very well. Made jokes that ridiculed BN, while he discreetly delivered his underlying political points in his punch lines.

He told us,

“In 1999, Dr. Koh asked the public for 10 years so he can shape Penang to rival Singapore”

MUahhahahhaha. Ok, so maybe the ex-CM more funny.

I wish him well and I hope to see him win. He speaks very good English and B.Malaysia and the Malaysian parliament will be different with him in it. Wanna help out? Me and MMK have donated, you can too.

MAS ticket story.

February 25, 2008

While looking at the travel offers, Pongs asked me… “Why no destination: Afghanistan?”. Haizzz….

Over the weekend, MAS was selling their tickets for up to 70% discounts. I looked up their website, saw my destination – but couldn’t book online. I had to visit travel fair at PISA. With 2 sidekicks, we went there to look see, look see la.

At the first booth, I learned that I had to give them confirmed dates before I could enjoy the savings. My inexperience in flying made me panic with thoughts of never being able to buy on the spot. So I called my parents, they had travel plans on April and June Kanasai. Apparently they had come a day earlier to book some cheap travels as well.

With no other options, I picked the early May and I can’t wait for it to come. Will be my first time going to Shanghai.

The New TreeHouse

February 19, 2008

Me: Come… I show you this house.
Se: 3-storey, you can climb or not?
Me:
-_-

These are pics taken today from the tree house. I’m excited to move in! :-)

Side view. Looks best from this angle.

Front view. House is facing south.

Postman’s view. Notice the stairs – have to climb a little to get to the living area.

Can grow many fellow trees in the compound.

Back view. Mechanical door opens to a 2-car garage.

Love the fence’s simple design. Back of house.

Full panoramic view of Penang Bridge and a beach-side walkabout that stretches all the way to the bridge. The “new” Gurney Drive.

CNY Report.

February 11, 2008

I’m actually glad that Monday is here. Though just 4 days, the holiday felt really looooong to me. Maybe it was the over indulgence of food and the endless visitation of family members that made me feel guilty and… kind of “bloated”. Anyway, I’m very glad offices will once again be open tomorrow. Hopefully by getting some errands done, I will be able to get rid of some “guilty” feelings.

The Family
Families of relatives from far aways came and stayed with us for a few days. Imagine this… 14 adults, 1 kid and 1 dog all cramped in a 3-bedroom apartment. Majority of them already left for home, making the living condition a little less stressful.

The Friends
Gambled Hold’em Poker and lost some money to little kids. Also paid visits to their houses to collect angpows. Some close, some far far away. Always nice to kepo and have a glimpse of other peoples’ houses and lives. Also had the chance to meet some very old friends.

The Business
Awesome. :-) A lot of rich kids all of a sudden! The only downside is, they all like to pay in RM1 notes.

The Idea
I have this idea of a no-frills Karaoke centre. No hidden charges, no nonsense tidbits, just basic charges. Customers only need to pay for that they want. And oh, the songs will be very fast and very up to date cause we’ll be making our own KTV’s; at least until the official ones are here.

One to Twelve.

Rat

…, Cow, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig.

Can you say all these in Hokkien without the “numbers” in under 10 seconds?
